Leave management system — common questions

Is the leave management free?

Yes. Leave requests, approvals, balance tracking and audit history are all included on the free plan (up to 10 employees). Paid plans start at ₹500/month.

How do paid leaves work?

You set the paid-leave count per month per employee in settings (default 1.5/month). Approved leaves within that count don’t cut salary; leaves beyond it are unpaid and deducted from salary automatically.

Can I carry forward unused leaves?

By default, leaves reset on your pay-cycle start day. Carryover behaviour is on the roadmap; today, owners can manually grant balance using the admin reconciliation tool.

What if I want to approve via WhatsApp?

Approvals happen in the app or the AI chat. WhatsApp notifications inform you of incoming requests and outgoing decisions; the actual approval is a single tap in Arth Saathi to keep the audit clean.

Can employees see their own balance?

Yes. Employees see their current balance, recent leaves, and pending requests on their app. No more ‘how many leaves do I have left’ questions.

What about sick leaves and casual leaves?

Today, Arth Saathi uses a single ‘paid leave’ pool — appropriate for most Indian SMBs. Separate buckets (sick, casual, earned) are on the roadmap for businesses that need them.

Can I edit or revoke a past leave?

Yes. Owners can edit historical leaves, with the change logged in the audit trail. Balance recalculates automatically.
